A Review of Research on Epiphytes in Forest Canopies

摘要 附生植物是热带森林中一个重要特征性组分,也是亚热带湿性山地森林和部分温带雨林中重要的组分之一,其在维持森林生态系统的生物多样性及其生态系统功能方面具有重要作用。文中从5个方面综述了国内外附生植物研究的历史和最新进展,并在此基础上对附生植物的发展趋势与重点研究方向进行了展望。 Epiphytes represent one of the most conspicuous features of tropical forests,and are also important component in subtropical montane moist forests and temperate rain forests.Epiphytes play vital roles in maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in these forests.The paper reviewed research progress on epiphytes from five aspects: 1) the history and new advances of epiphytes research;2) the biodiversity of epiphytes;3) the spatial distribution of epiphytes across latitude,longitude and altitude gradients;4) the ecological function of epiphytes on water cycling,nutrient cycling,biodiversity formation and maintenance;5) the responses of epiphyte to forests conversion and global warming.Finally,the future direction and emphases of epiphytes research were discussed.
