科普教育对提高公众的科学素质、推动经济发展和社会进步有着十分重要的意义。图书馆的社会教育职能及其拥有的资源、技术和服务优势,决定了它在科普工作中的地位和作用。图书馆开展科普教育可以通过自我宣传、提高图书馆科技含量、加强文献资源建设、开展导读服务以及举办科普活动等途径来实现。
The popular science education has great significance on improving the scientific literacy of the public and promoting the economic development and social progress.The social education function of the library and the superiorities of the library in resources,techniques and services determine the position and？role of the library in popular science education.The popular science education of the library can be realized through making the self- propaganda,enhancing the sci-tech content,strengthening the literature resources construction,carrying out the reading guidance,and holding the popular science activities,etc.
