Traditionally,Chinese poetry is divided into various subgenres, such as Ci and Qu.There is also a kind of prose-poem called Fu.Yang Xiong's proposition that "insignificant skills such as poet writing and seal cutting are such trifles that they should be practiced by children rather than adults" has always been viewed as something radical in exceeding the proper limits when righting a wrong. For this,Yang had traditionally been labeled as the originator of literary deconstructionism. However, this paper argues that such interpretations of Yang's words are at least partially wrong.Yang's original intention of saying such,in the eyes of the present author, was to rectify the literary tendency of inordinately stressing the practice of poetry writing with ornate embellishments, and Yang advocated unity between outer literary forms and the quality of content.
