ICO全球通信系统是著名的全球个人移动通信系统(GMPCS)之一,它由空间段和地面段两部分组成;空间段由运行在中圆轨道上的12颗卫星组成;地面段是由SAN、SCC、NMC和BDC等组成的ICONET。ICO系统预定在2000年开始全面运营业务,届时ICO将向全球提供多层面终端的各种通信业务。
ICO Global Communications System is one of the Global Mobile Personal Communications Systems, which consists of two parts: the space segment consists of 12 satellites operating on the intermediate circular orbits; the ground segment is also known as ICONET, which consists of SAN, SCC, NMC and BDC. The ICO system is scheduled for full operational service in the year 2000, providing various telecom services throughout the world.
