摘要
辽水为我国古代六川之一,其名最早见于《山海经.海内东经》。辽水之内涵为辽地之水。由于"辽水"与"辽东"的悠久性和代表性,对一系列以"辽"字冠名的地名的衍生产生了重要的影响。"辽海"是除辽东、辽水之外又一个十分重要的"辽"字地名。根据史料分析,辽海难以涵盖我国东北地区,但基本涵盖了今天辽宁的大部分区域,同时辽海一名充分体现了辽宁地域文化、流域文化和海洋文化的特点,适合冠名辽宁的历史与文化。
Liao waters is one of the six rivers in ancient China,recorded as early as in ＂Shan Hai Ching＂.The connotation of ＂Liao waters＂ is the water in Liao region.The long history of using the name of ＂Liao waters＂ and ＂Eastern Liao＂ is of great influence deriving a series of names involving ＂Liao＂.＂Liao Sea＂ is another important geographic in addition to ＂Eastern Liao＂ and ＂Liao waters＂.The history data tells that ＂Liao Sea＂,though can＇t cover all the Chinese Northeastern area,covers most areas in current Liaoning province.This name reflects the characteristics of Liaoning in terms of the land culture,river culture,and sea culture,so that it is an appropriate name for Liaoning＇s history and culture.
