摘要
形式主义与功能主义是当今语言学研究的两大流派,语言哲学的发展和语言研究的终极目标为二者的洽商创造了可能性。句法-语义的接口研究、语法化研究新进展和语言类型学研究的延伸构建了两大学派的洽商机制。形式主义者与功能主义者似乎都意识到:形式主义与功能主义不但不应该对立,而且还应该取长补短、相互借鉴。形式主义与功能主义应殊途同归。
Formalism and functionalism are the two major schools of thought in the study of linguistics. The development of linguistic philosophy and the ultimate target of linguistic study have made the negotiation between formalism and functionalism possible. The mechanism of negotiation could be established through the syntax-semantics interface study,development of grammaticalization study and extension of typology study. Formalists and functionalists come to realize that they should complement each other and reach the same goal by different routes,instead of standing in opposition.
