The reaction of acetalization between benzaldehyde and alcohols over Y zeolites with differentratio of SiO 2/Al 2O 3has been studied benzyl aldehyde was obtained in 90% yield.As benzaldehyde was acted on methanol with DUSY 4 zeolite(SiO 2/Al 2O 3) as a catalyst.The catalytic reaction conditions were also investigated,and the optimum reaction conditions were found.The acetalization of benzaldehyde and the other alcohols catalyzed by DUSY 4 were compared with that of methanol.The yield of benzyl aldehyde decreased with the increase of bulk of alcohol molecular.
