October＇s inflation numbers surprised everyone, jumping up to 4.4% from 3.6% a month earlier.Warning bells were rung, blame was cast, and everyone started getting to work tightening up monetary supplies. On November 16 the People＇s Bank of China （PBOC） raised the required reserve ratio of banks by 50 basis points up to 17.5%. Analysts all expect another interest rate hike before the end of the year.
