Abstract Our country’s
interest rate has been kept on decreasing ever since 1996. The country has softly landed its
economy, and a buyers market has been established, now a deflation economy is emerging. In
order to adjust to the new economic situation, China’s central bank reduced its interest rate for
six times according to different economic backgrounds. This topic discusses the following
questions: 1. How about the effect of interest rate policy; 2. Why the policy can’t be fully
conducted; 3. Can the interest rate be lowed further more; 4. Should the government marketrize the
interest rate in order to improve the effectiveness of interest rate policy.
