1999年是本世纪的最后一年,一个充满希望的新世纪正向我们走来。我们现正处于历史的转折点,人类将经历一场全球性的科技革命,以信息技术和生命工程为主要标志的科技日新月异,知识的创造性应用,使经济和社会发展突飞猛进。站在世纪之交的巅峰,展望中国食品工业的发展,既充满机遇,也面临挑战;既有非常有利的条件,又有许多困难。但是,放眼远眺,我们看到了比过去任何时候都更加广阔、灿烂的前景。
In the 20th century, especially in the last two decades, the Chinese food industry has witnessed tremendous growth. In 1978, its gross production value was RMB47.17 billion but had risen to RMB531.79 billion by 1997, with the annual growth rate reaching 10.1% . In this article, an expert gives an overview on the developmental status of the industry during the period. In the next issue, he will share with us his projections of its developmental trends in the 21st century.
