摘要
汉代后妃是汉代美人的代表,因为后妃的选择是非常严格和讲究的,要求"合法相",也就是符合所谓的大富大贵之相。何谓当时所理解的"合法相"呢?这在记录汉代后妃形貌的只言片语中有所提及,其基本特征是身材颀长适中、身形丰满圆润、隆准、广颡、修耳、丰颊、肌理腻洁、蛾眉、凤眼、朱唇、皓齿、天足、美发、手如柔荑,带给我们非常健康的、大气的、干净的、和谐的美丽。
Empresses and imperial concubines,in the Han Dynasty,were representatives of beauties at large,in that they were chosen from these beauties by means of extreme particularity and strictness.Actually,they were required to be ＂in conformity with certain physique features＂ which stood for riches and splendor.How to understand the concept of being ＂in conformity with certain physique features＂ in the minds of the contemporary people？ As for the answer to this question,we luckily find,in some books,a few isolated words and phrases which give some sketchy descriptions to these outstanding beauties.This essay here,based on the study of these sporadic descriptions,is to sum up some basic physique features which should be possessed by an empress or an imperial concubine.They are as follows： a slender and medium stature with plumpness and mellowness;a bulging nose;a broad forehead;long and delicate ears;a cheek with fullness;tender and neat facial textures;long slender eyebrows;phoenix eyes;crimson lips;white teeth;naturally-grown feet;graceful hair;hands as tender as grass buds.In conclusion,in case she should appear before us,we would see a wonderful beauty with good health,delicate elegance,exact neatness and great harmony.
