摘要
经过几个世纪以来欧美文明的同化影响,印第安人已经发生了比较深入的"白化",具有印第安人和美国人的双重身份。在《战舞》的标题故事中,这种双重身份相互之间的历史和现实不可调和因素给印第安民族心理和民族特性带来的困惑和挑战。
American Indians have been irreversibly turned White,more or less,after centuries of Euroamerican assimilation.Unfortunately,their double identities of being Indians and Americans have been in a constantly irresolvable conflict,which is well demonstrated in Sherman Alexie＇s title story War Dances.Worse still,the challenge of developing a historically and ethically consistent Indian identity has been in deep mire,throwing Indian warriors in misery,despair and hopelessness.
