摘要
Shuttlc-C是一种由航天飞机衍变而来的高运载能力、低成本运载系统,它能将45.4~68吨的有效载荷送入低地轨道。其主推进系统将采用两台或三台航天飞机主发动机,在许多方面与航天飞机的主推进系统有相似之处,并将保持航天飞机主推进系统的高可靠性。该系统的研制可利用已有的航天运输系统研制数据库,从而可大大降低研制成本。
Shuttle-C is a low cost derivative of the current Space Shuttle and can deliver 45.4 to 68 tons of payload to low earth orbit. Its main propulsion system incorporates either two or three Space Shuttle main engines and is common with the Space Transportation System main propulsion system (STS MPS) in most aspects.The qualification data base of the current STS MPS applies directly to Shuttle-C, as is explained in this paper.
