This paper introduces the basic concepts of the social responsibility,and probes into the main contents of the social responsibility of the public library from aspects of providing the quality resources,carrying out the continuous education,constructing the learning-type society,publicizing the excellent cultural tradition,and establishing the peoplebased scientific conception,etc.
