二期围堰是三峡工程施工的屏障。围堰工程总量大、工期短、强度大、施工难度大,基础地质条件复杂。在长期研究和大量现场施工试验的基础上,妥善地解决了基础新淤砂和强透水岩体处理、深水抛填、风化砂堰体和深混凝土防渗墙设计和施工中的关键技术问题,确保了深水围堰的按期建成和安全运行。
The phase - Ⅱ cofferdam is the protective barrier for the construction of theThree Gorges Project. The 'huge quantities for the cofferdam must be completed within a shorterduration, at a high placement rate and with difficulties in construction under complicated geologicalconditions. Based on extensive researches and field tests for years, key technical problems have beenresolved in design and construction of the cofferdam shell made up of weathered sand dumped indeep water and the high concrete cut - off wall, rested on newly deposited silty layer and heavily per-meable rock mass, so that the cofferdam in deep water can be built on schedule and operate safely.
