摘要
关于集体行动理论,社会学家与经济学家存在截然相反的观点。社会学家认为,只要集团存在有共同利益,它的成员就会共同努力去实现这种利益;经济学家却认为,共同利益是一种公共物品,它的非排他性将引发成员的搭便车行为,从而导致集体行动的失败。奥尔森认为,这两种不同的观点都犯有相同的错误,即它们都没有去研究集团规模、成员结构和制度安排对集体行动的影响。奥尔森在一系列条件下开创性地分析了影响集体行动的因素,构建了集体行动理论研究的出发点。
Sociologists and economists hold totally different opinions regarding collective action.Sociologists believe that as long as there are common interests in a group,the members of the group will together strive to achieve such interests;however,economists argue that since common interests are a kind of public goods,their non-exclusive property will give rise to group members' free-rider behaviour,thus resulting in the failure of collective action.Olson holds that the two kinds of different opinions have made the same mistake,namely,neither of them studies the influence the scale of the group,the structure of the members and institutional arrangement have on collective action.Olson pioneers in analyzing the factors effecting collective action under a series of conditions,which constructs the starting point of the theory of collective action.
