The inhibitory effect of 3 and 5 nirtosalicyl N methylamide on the activity of ubiquinol cytochrome c reductase was studied.As a result,their inhibiton was not sensitive to the substrate of different ubiquinols used.There was no obvious difference among the inhibitory effects of 3 and 5 nitrosalicyl N methylamide on the activity of ubiquinol cytochrome c reductase,while Q 2H 2,DQH 2 and Q 0c 10 H 2 acted as substrate for providing electrons,which demonstrated that the substrated group on quinone affected little to the two inhibitors exhibiting their inhibition to QCR,and it could be ascribed to their effects of disturbing the reaction of hydration and dehydration of quinone.The results by comparing the inhibition of 3 and 5 nitrosalicyl N methylamide on ubiquinol cytochrome c reductase showed that there was no relationship between the inhibitory effects and the position of the substrated nitro group.
