摘要
采用第一人称的叙事手法是小说The Great Gatsby的突出艺术成就之一。在翻译过程中如何处理此类叙事手法在很大程度上考验着译者的翻译能力。译者高克毅充分发挥主观能动性,采用适当插入叙事者补白和灵活运用古雅词句的翻译策略,再现了原文特有的叙事风格和时代氛围,有利于将语言和精神的双重内涵较巧妙地传递给目标读者。
It is one of the distinctive features of the employment of the first - person narrative technique in the novel The Great Gatsby, which poses grcat challenge to the translator＇ s capacity. In employing the translation strategies of proper insertion of the narrator＇s fillers and flexible manipulation of classical Chinese wording, the translator Gao Keyi reproduces the implication of the narrative technique as well as the surface meaning of it, conveying them to the target readers in a tactful way.
