The Development of Early Modern Chinese Economics:Based on Examination of Doctoral Dissertations by Chinese Students Overseas

摘要中国现代经济学不是内生的,而是从西方移植过来的。在早期移植西方经济理论的过程中,近代留学生群体对中国现代经济学的产生、发展起了极其重要的作用。他们一方面运用现代经济理论分析中国经济问题,促进经济学的中国化、本土化,为解决中国经济问题寻求答案;另一方面敏锐把握经济学发展的时代脉搏,勇于创新,跻身世界经济学学术之林。 Modern Chinese economics did not originate in China but was transplanted from the West.In the early period of transplanting Western economic theory,Chinese students overseas of the early modern era played a very important role in the formation and development of modern Chinese economics.On the one hand,by applying modern economic theory to Chinese economic problems,they sought solutions to those problems and facilitated the sinicization and localization of economics;on the other,they keenly followed the latest contemporary developments in economics and were courageous innovators,with some eventually becoming world famous economists.
