摘要
人民币在一定条件下成为SDR的组成部分,促使SDR货币构成多元化,打破世界主要储备货币的惯性和路径依赖,既可弥补国际货币体系缺陷。
Given China's significant share of the world economy, failing to include the yuan in a Special Drawing Rights basket of currencies in the future could reduce the ability of the SDR system in representing most of the world's economies. That's the opinion of Ge Huayong, China's former International Monetary Fund board member, writing for China Reform. Ge said the Chinese government should put greater emphasis on establishing the yuan as a reserve currency, while also working toward convertible capital accounts and developing offshore yuan markets. IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn recently said the fund would consider adding the yuan to its SDR basket in five years. But he held out convertibility as a precondition for the yuan's acceptance. Ge said including the yuan would expand the basket's diversity and repair flaws in the international monetary system.
