On July 21, 2010, Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act went into force after it was signed by US President Barack Obama. This paper analyzes its contents and introduces its principles of legislation and specific measures to promote financial stabilization, to reestablish a banking supervision system, to enhance supervision of large banks, to improve financial consumer protection, and to boost the supervision on banking and financial market infrastructure. It also points out the importance of the reforms to the completion of China's financial supervision system.
