Based on the ethical literary criticism put forward by Nie Zhenzhao, this paper attempts to explore the ethical significance in Death of a Salesman. Willy Loman's tragedy is caused by the conflicts between ethical dream (American dream) and commercial jungle law (morality alienation). Through the death of Willy,Miller points out the destructive consequence of commercialization to traditional ethics and the dilemma man is facing. In Death of a Salesman Miller shows his considerability towards man's spiritual crisis in commercialized life and his appeal to the ethics construction in society.
