Sample plots were set up in the secondary birch forest designated as ecological forest,model trees were selected for different diameter classes and biomass were measured.The results showed that birch biomass in the secondary ecological forest was 64.61 tones per ha.Biomass allocation among various parts of birch tree was in a regular pattern,the trunk biomass accounted for 65.04%~73.64% of the total aboveground biomass,while the crown biomass accounted for 65.04%~73.64% of the total aboveground biomass.
