摘要
本文阐述了乌鲁木齐市的生态环境日益恶化的现状，分析了造成环境恶化的多方面的原因，探讨了乌鲁木齐市实现城市可持续发展的模式并提出了相应的调整对策。
Urumqi is the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the political, economic, cultural and scientific and technological center of Xinjiang. It is also an important base of heavy industry and a hub of communication in northwest of China with its strong function of urban society, economy and favorable development condition. At present, the city is facing a contra- diction between its function and structure, which is a serious problem of ecological and environ- mental pollution caused by irrational economical activities, especially the developing of industry and increasing consumption of energy resources, and has become a restricting factor for the ur- ban sustainable development. First of all, the appearrances of deteriorating tendency of ecology and environment of the city are pointed out, for instance, pollution of water resources is tending to deteriorate with its utilization out of control, atmospheric pollution is becoming more and more serious, the urban environmental quality descends markedly, grasslands degenerate seriously, and the area for cultivation reduces sharply. Secondly, the causes of the urban environmrntal deterioration include low starting points of industry, deficiency of funds for transforming technology, backward technology for transforming energy resource, poor urban infrastructure, peculiar topographical and meteorological conditions which result in the deterioration of environmental quality of the city. Thirdly, a model of sustainable development is put forward, that is to control population growth, regulate industrial structure, and contruct ecology and infrastructure coordinately for improving the environment of Urumqi City. Lastly, some countermeasures are suggested for the urban sustainable development.
