Objective To investigate the value of brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAEP), somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) united electroencephalogram (EEG) in comatose patients with acute stroke. Methods BAEP, SEP united EEG were used in 60 comatose patients with acute stroke and the prognosis were analyzed. Results Compared with Glasgow score group, the sensitivity was 96.9%, the specificity was 96.4%, the accuracy was 96.7% in BAEP, SEP united EEG group. Significant difference was found between BAEP, SEP united EEG group and Glasgow score group. Conclusion BAEP, SEP u- nited EEG testing can provide an objective indicator not only for evaluating brain function of comatose patients with acute stroke, but also for estimating prognosis.
