Tadalafil is a high efficient,selective phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor,which is the third generation of medication authorized by FDA for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.This review summarizes the various synthetic processes of tadalafil and conducts the comparison on its merits and demerits for trying to find a process route best suited to large-scale production.
