分析了电力通信在世纪之交所面临的机遇和挑战，阐述了产生这些机遇和挑战的两个根本因素，探讨了电力系统通信当前已经基本明朗的主要技术趋势，提出了值得注意的一些发展动向。
This paper analyses the challenges and opportunities for the development of power system telecommunications world-wide and its main driving factors,discusses the major trends of technological developments of power system telecommunication,and presents some opinions about the further move of power system telecommunication in the coming years.
