The development of the technology for the electric car is speeding up, as more attentions have been paid to the world energy saving and environment protection. This article describes the present situation and future development trend of the technology for the electric car, and influences occurred due to the quick development of electric motors, power electronics, microelectronics and new materials, as well as comparisons between different electrical driving systems and battery systems. It also discusses the application potential and market of the electric car.
