摘要
总的来说,英美语言哲学是大同小异,同中有异。从哲学渊源上看,英国哲学的传统是理想主义,而美国是实用主义;从哲学范式上看,英国哲学追求理论体系的完整性,而美国更注重实验、实效;从哲学方法上看,英国哲学讲究基础的建构,而美国更强调怀疑和解构。二者各有千秋各有所长,共同促进语言哲学的发展。
On the whole, the language philosophy in the United Kingdom and that in the United States are mostly alike except for some slight differences. From the point of view of philosophical origins, the tradition of the British philosophy is idealism, while that of the United States is pragmatism. From the point of view of philosophical paradigm , the philosophy of the United Kingdom pursues the integrity of theoretical system, while the philosophy of the United States pays more attention to the actual effect of experiment. From the philosophical methodology, the British philosophy pays attention to construction, while the philosophy of the United States places more emphasis on doubt and deconstruction. They both have their own advantages and together they promote the development of the language philosophy.
