摘要
《蝴蝶梦》中所描写的自然环境,尤其是血红色怒放的高大石南、车道边密集的黑色树林的意象多次重复,细致阐释了无所不在的丛林法则——"物竞天择,适者生存";而展现的人文环境,以有着强烈食欲和交际欲的范?霍珀夫人、有着本能的肉欲和征服欲的吕蓓卡、作为生存强者"粉丝"的丹弗斯太太、盲目适应周边环境的老奶奶等为线索,生动呈现了一个欲望充斥的世界。在渲染的"自然主义"氛围中,主人公"我"完全被剥夺了自由的意志,不是成为侍者等人忽视的卑微"伴侣",就是成为被管家捉弄又不能适应周边环境的前女主人阴影下的新"女主人",迷失了自我的身份。
The natural environment depicted in Rebecca,especially the repeated images of the blood-red bloom of the tall heather and the dense black woods beside the drive give a detailed explanation of the jungle law： ＂Struggle for existence,survival of the fittest＂;and the human environment,taking Mrs.Van Hopper who has a strong appetite for food and intersection,Rebecca who has a strong instinct for men and conquest,Mrs.Danvers who acts as the fan of ＂the strongest＂ and the old grandmother,and the likes who have a blind adaptation to the surrounding environment as a clue,presents a vivid world filled with desire.In the ＂naturalistic＂ atmosphere,the heroine ＂I＂ is deprived of any free will.She has to become a humble ＂companion＂ who is ignored by waiters and others,or becomes the new ＂hostess＂ who,under the shadow of the former hostess,cannot adapt to the surrounding environment and is made fun of by the female housekeeper,and then loses her self-identity.
