托马斯·赫尔佐格在设计中对生态问题始终给予极大的关注，他将生态观念运用于建筑设计，建立了许多适应生态要求的设计概念并付诸实施，例如玻璃之翼、对角线立方体、两个区域的住宅、纤长的矩形等。实现这些概念的手段是恰当地运用新材料、新技术，并将其与建筑艺术完美地结合。
Thomas Herzog is interested in ecological consciousness of architecture. He created some concepts embodied in his buildings as the wings of glass,diagonal cubes, two-zone houses and slender buildings. With new materials and techniques, he is insistent in pursuing a perfect combination of technology and art.
