摘要
作为一种特殊的城市用地，城市滨水区是城市中具有巨大发展潜力的空间领域。在工业社会时期，城市滨水区因其便利的交通条件而成为现代城市开发的前沿。而在后工业社会的今天，城市滨水区再次成为城市再开发的重要内容。本文系统介绍了加拿大格兰威尔岛的更新改造实践，总结其在指导思想，建设方式、经营管理以及规划设计等方面的经验，对我国类似地区的开发建设乃至城市更新改造具有一定的借鉴意义。
Abstract Waterfront is a special kind of land-use, which
has potentiality in urban development. In the past industrial society, waterfront was the frontierof
modern urban development for its advantage of transportation. Today in the post-industrial
society, waterfront again plays an important rolein the movement of urban redevelopment. Taking
the redevelopment of Granville Island in the city of Vancouver Canada as a successfulexample ,
this paper aims at providing readers with its significant experiences in planning, design,
management and construction.
