摘要
通过问卷测试对昆明理工大学学生中国文化词语英语表达能力进行调查,并和西方文化词汇表达进行对比,结果表明:大多数学生无法很好地掌握中国文化词语的英语表达,用英语表达西方文化的能力高于表达中国文化的能力。其中,英语专业学生能力胜过非英语专业学生。另外,较男生而言,女生更能用英语表达中国文化词语。
Based on questionnaires and tests, a study on students＇ ability to express Chinese culturally- loaded words in English in science and engineering universities is conducted. Results show that most students in science and engineering universities can not express Chinese culturally-loaded words or identify the right English translation of Chinese words competently. Moreover, English majors perform better than non-English majors on the whole and female students can better use English to express Chinese culture than male students.
