摘要
本文从外语教学角度评述了近几十年来语块理论和应用方面的研究。提出语块是词汇语法集合体,定义语块需考虑:(1)结构形式特征;(2)意义特征;(3)功能特征;(4)语言使用时的心理特征。对语块的界定需考虑其形式、结构、语义、语用及使用等因素。在确认语块在二语习得中优势的基础上,我们需要就语块的认知心理基础、在外语教学中的地位、在中国外语教学中的实践形式等问题展开更深入、全面的研究。研究可采用理论-实验-实践循环发展的模式。
This paper defines lexical chunks as the linguistic unit of integration of lexical and grammatical features. It suggests that three aspects need to be considered in its definition: (1) the formal and constructional features; (2) the unity meaning; (3) the syntactic and communicative functions; (4) psychological features in its usage. Starting from the previous categorization and classification, the paper suggests that the formal, structural, semantic, pragmatic and usage features need to be comprehensively considered in chunk categorization. Despite the various developments achieved, there remain many problems to be solved in chunk research in order to promote lexical teaching: (1) the cognitive and psychological basis of chunks; (2) the position of chunks in language acquisition; (3) the application of chunk teaching in FLT. The future research can adopt the theory-experiment-practice approach.
