摘要
层序地层学的影响越来越广泛,涉及许多地质学分支,包括遗迹学、古气候和古生态学等。层序地层学现在得到广泛承认,已经成为研究地层的标准技术。目前正在利用层序地层学原理探讨范围广阔的不同课题,例如盆地演化、岩相结构、化石记录的性质以及有机相的分布等。随着这门学科逐渐变得成熟,层序地层学和其它学科(例如沉积学、旋回地层学、事件地层学和化学地层学)之间的清晰边界已经开始消失,本文重点论述了层序地层学的研究现状、存在的问题及今后的发展方面。
The influence of sequence stratigraphy is becoming stronger—many branches of geology, including ichnology, paleoclimatology and paleoecology, etc., have been involved. Now sequence stratigraphy is widely accepted, and is becoming standard technology of stratigraphical research. The principle of sequence stratigraphy is used in discussing a wide scope of topics, such as basin evolution, facies structure, nature of fossil record, and distribution of organic facies, etc. As it becomes mature, the clear line between sequence and other disciplines, e.g., sedimentology, cyclic stratigraphy, event stratigraphy, and chemical stratigraphy, starts to disappear.
