超高能宇宙线事例到达方向的重建

A new method to reconstruct the arrival direction of ultra-high energy cosmic rays

摘要 简单介绍了HiRes(High Resolution Fly's Eye)高能宇宙线实验。根据探测器的特点,发展了一套新的宇宙线事例到达方向的重建方法,即HiRes2时间-HiRes1中心矢量法。该方法利用了HiRes2的时间信息以及HiRes1的中心矢量,使得探测器的角分辨整体上达到0.43°。文中还研究了探测器的角分辨随着能量的变化关系,对于能量大于1018.4eV的事例,探测器的分辨率好于0.4°。 The HiRes(High Resolution Fly's Eye) experiment is introduced briefly.A new method to reconstruct the arrival direction of cosmic rays observed in HiRes has been developed.The idea of this method is that we firstly determine the plane of HiRes2,then,utilize the timing information of HiRes2 and the center vector of HiRes1 to determine the shower detector plane of HiRes1.Employing the new method,the angular resolution of cosmic rays shower can reach 0.43 degree.For events above 1018.4eV,the angular resolution is better than 0.4 degree.
