Brief Discussion on Research Front and Its Identification by Bibliometric Method

摘要 识别研究前沿对于科学研究的促进作用越来越大。国外对"研究前沿"这一概念的定义大致分为3类,分别对应着3种不同的文献计量识别方法,包括同被引分析、文献耦合分析、共词分析等。为了克服单一方法在分析效果上的不足,研究者们尝试着结合多种方法来识别研究前沿。Kostoff提出的"文献相关的发现"方法体系在预测未来研究前沿方面具有很好的应用前景。 Identifying research front is playing a greater and greater role in promoting scientific research.The concept of research front is approximately divided into 3 types in foreign countries,each corresponds to a specific type of bibliometric method,including co-citation analysis,bibliographic coupling analysis and co-word analysis.Researchers are trying hard to combine two or more types of bibliometric methods to identify research front in order to overcome the deficiencies of a single method.The literature-related discovery method system proposed by R.N.Kostoff has a promising prospect for predicting the future research front.
