A Fingerprint Image Enhancement Algorithm by Varied Sizes of Blocking

摘要 提出了一种新的图像分块方法,对方向变化不同的区域,采用可变大小的分块,来弥补传统算法的缺点,并用分级校正的方法来计算指纹方向图,从而得到较准确的块方向,最后通过Gabor滤波器增强指纹图像。实验验证了算法的有效性。 Traditional algorithms of fingerprint image enhancement often bring some disadvantages because of the fixed blocks. This article brought forward a new method of blocking, which divided the image into different sizes of blocks for the different direction values. The method made up for the shortcomings of traditional algorithms, corrected the block direction according to the local characteristic and enhanced the fingerprint image by Gabor filters. The experiment showed the validity and the utility of this algorithm.
