摘要
东亚语言的塞尾一般认为是唯闭音,我们发现黎语、藏语和羌语的一些方言点存在塞尾爆破,此现象对音节划分提出了新问题,且中折调可能源于爆破的塞尾。
Final stops in East Asian languages are generally believed to be sounds with no audible release But the present authors have discovered that in some dialects of the Li, Tibetan and Qiang languages there are many actual instances of the release of the final stops. This discovery raises new challenges to and illuminations for the division of syllables, and strongly hints that the broken tone very probably may have originated from the release of the final stops.
