摘要
本文试图运用关联理论主要原则,结合新闻英语教学实践,从认知语用学角度探讨如何解决新闻英语教学中存在的理解障碍问题。初步认为,关联理论指导下的新闻英语教学既可加强学生通过新闻英语语境理解新词和推断作者意图的能力,又可强化学生对异语文化的批判性吸收和理解。
This paper attempts to apply the main principles of relevance theory, combined with news English teaching practice, from a cognitive point of view of pragmatics, and explores how to resolve the problems of understanding barriers arising in the course of news English teaching. It arrives at the preliminary conclusion that the news English teaching under the guidance of Relevance Theory can improve students'the abilities to understand new words through the news English context and to infer author's intentions as well as strengthen the students' critical absorption and understanding to different language and culture.
