摘要
在国家的现代化话语影响下,土家族彩礼在形式与内容上发生了巨大的变迁,表现为:集体化年代以基本生活消耗品为彩礼;20世纪80年代,奢侈品渐入彩礼;20世纪90年代以来,彩礼发生了从实物向现金的转换,且数额一路飙升。与土家族彩礼在内容与形式上发生巨大变化相反,彩礼的文化意义却基本稳定,即:使婚姻契约生效,联络姻亲关系,检验新郎诚意和帮助新郎实现身份转变。现代化话语与土家族彩礼变化的实践深刻启示着国家话语与少数民族民间社会的关系构建。
The form and content of betrothal gifts in Tujia ethnic minority has undergone tremendous changes in the modernized national discourse. They are characterized by three distinctive periods. In the collectivization years betrothal gifts were basic consumables and in the 1980＇s, luxurious articles were gradually taken as betrothal gifts. Since the 1990＇s, betrothal has changed from articles to money. Moreover, the amount is-increasingly boosting over. Nevertheless, the cultural meaning of betrothal generally stands stable. The marriage articles become effective, new affinity set up and the groom tried and helped to adapt to his new role. The practical situation indicates clearly the relations between the modernized national discourse and the ethnic minority society.
