It has become a consensus that exercise training is helpful to neural functional recovery after cerebral ischemia injury, however, the underlying mechanisms have not been clarified. This article is aimed to review the intervention effect of exercise training on axon growth and the expression of inhibitive factor after cerebral ischemia injury, including the effect of exercise training on nerve growth factor, brainderived neurotrophic factor, growth associated protein-43, thus the role of exercise training in the functional recovery of cerebral ischemia injury is described.
