[ Objective] To perform cytogenetic analysis on radiation workers with long-term exposure to small doses ionizing radiation, and provide evidence for strengthening the health surveillance of radiation workers. [ Methods ] Method of micro amount of full blood was adopted to detect micronucleus rate of peripheral blood lymphocytes of 417 radiation workers and 135 non-radiation workers, and statistical analysis was performed. [ Results ] Micronucleus rate and micro-nucleated cells rate of observation group and control group were 1. 14‰ and 1. 02‰ 0.39‰ and 0. 37‰. The differences of test results between 2 groups were significant (P〈0.01). [Conclusion] Small doses of ionizing radiation have some cytogenetic effect on radiation workers; therefore, the strengthening of radiation protection to the workers is necessary.
