摘要
中国加入WTO和经济全球化的快速发展,给中国的外语教育带来新的机遇和挑战。当今,越来越多的外籍教师或自愿或应邀来到中国,积极投身中国的外语教育事业。尤其在高校,不难看到许多外教忙碌的身影,他们在各自的外语教学岗位上发挥着举足轻重的作用。然而,聘请外籍教师在高校任教并非一件简单的事情,实际上,中国许多高校所聘请的外籍教师常常是良莠不齐,外籍教师的课堂教学既有成功的范例,也有许多不尽人意之处甚或失败的个例。高校聘任外籍教师担任教学工作有利有弊。如何分析并认清各种利弊,加强管理,以便更好地发挥他们在中国外语教学中的作用到了应该提上议事日程的时候了。
The China＇s entering into WTO and quick development of economic globalization has brought about new chance and challenges to China＇s English education. Nowadays, more and more foreign teachers have come to or been invited to China, joining in our English education cause. Especially in colleges and universities, many of the foreign teachers make considerable contribution to the English teaching cause of the country. However, engaging foreign teachers in universities isn＇t a simple job, actually the foreign teachers most universities have engaged are uneven, for we have some successful teaching memo, but as well as some not good enough or failure examples. So engaging foreign teachers in colleges and universities has both advantages and disadvantages. And it is also the time to think about how to analyze and make all the advantages and disadvantages clear, and how to enhance the administration so as to bring them into full play in foreign language teaching in China.
