摘要
福克纳的《献给爱米丽的玫瑰》讲述了南方小镇上一位贵族老处女爱米丽的悲剧生活。本文从南方社会强烈的社区意识对女性人性的压抑、对传统的眷念与爱米丽追求个人幸福的个人主义表现之间的冲突来分析爱米丽的反叛人生。她强烈的自我和自主意识使她敢于自由选择,不屈不挠地与镇上的人对抗,为维护自己作为一个人,尤其是作为一个女人所应有的追求幸福和爱情、自由和尊严的权利而做出大胆的抗争与反叛。
Faulkner＇ s A Rose for Emily tells the miserable life of Emily, an aristocratic spinster in a small southern town. This article analyzes Emily＇ s rebellious life through the conflict between the repression of women＇ s humanity by the strong sense of community of the Southerners, their love of tradition and Emily＇ s individualistic performance in pursuit of her personal happiness. Her strong sense of self and independence resulted in her bold- ness in seeking freedom and keeping on the relentless confrontation with the town＇ s people in order to maintain the right of people, especially of a woman in pursuit of her proper happiness and love, freedom and dignity.
