THIS past September I made a ten-day visit to the U.S.,covering Washington D.C.,New York City and Portland,Or-egon.The idea was to meet with local politicians,intellectuals,media members and Joe Average,and,I was impressed.I had never before seen the magnitude of interest that American people were now showing in China.
