摘要
钱穆在集美中学、无锡三师、苏州中学从事中学教育的八年间,针对当时中学教育存在的诸多弊端,主张中学教育以锻炼体魄、陶冶意志、培养情操、开发智能为目标,提出"文化教育"与"人才教育"的人才培养模式,建议通过国史教育培养中学生的爱国主义思想和民族主义意识。他对中等教育改革提出的批评和建议,既是他从事中等教育的实践心得,又是他研究中国文化的成果,具有一定的理论与现实意义。
During the eight years when he was teaching in Jimei Middle School, Wuxi Third Normal School and Suzhou Middle School, Qian Mu criticised many malpractices of those schools and argued that secondary education's goal should he cultivating students' mind, emotion and wisdom. He proposed the new education model of cultural education and talent education. He suggested developing nationalism and patriotism among students through Chinese history teaching. The criticism and suggestions were, on one hand, based on his teaching experience in secondary schools; on the other hand they were the result of his research on the Chinese culture. They have theoretical and practical significance.
