On the Constructivism-based Education Reform in English Teaching

摘要 《大学英语课程教学要求》启动了新一轮大学英语教学改革。提出各高等学校应充分利用多媒体和网络技术,建立一个"基于计算机和课堂的英语多媒体教学模式",这一新的大学英语教学模式的理论基础是建构主义学习理论。建构主义学习理论强调以学生为中心,强调学生对知识的主动探索及主动发现和对所学的知识意义的主动建构。本文通过对经典建构主义教学模式(问题解决模式、情境学习模式、合作学习模式)的分析研究,对我国英语教学模式改革提出自己的思路。 "College English Curriculum Requirements" has started a new round of reform in English teaching. It is pointed out that colleges and universities should remold the existing unitary teacher-centered pattern of language teaching with a view to establishing a computer-aided and learner-oriented teaching model. Such an education reform is based on the learning theory of constructivism. This theory attaches more importance to the learners and advocates their active discovery, active research and "mental construction". This paper discusses the teaching model of constructivism (problem-based learning, situation-based learning and cooperative learning); and offers some thoughts for reform in college English teaching system.
