摘要
民国初期，尽管时局动荡，但雅礼会在长沙稳步开展自己的医疗活动，兴建了湘雅医院、湘雅护士学校、医学预科学校、湘雅医学专门学校，并积极开展公共卫生工作。为了稳步开展各项医疗活动，雅礼会制定一系列新的策略，加强与湖南政府的合作，积极接触社会名流及绅士阶层，争取经济援助，并合作办学，兴建医院。
In the early stage of the republican period of China, despite the turbulent political situation, the Yale-China Association steadily developed its own medical career in Changsha, constructed Hsiang-ya Hospital, Hsiang-ya nursing school, medical preparatory school, Hsiang-ya specific medical school, and actively carried out public health work. In order to carry out all kinds of medical activities, the Yale-China Association developed a series of new strategies to improve cooperation with the Hunan government and actively contacted celebrities and the affluent class for financial assistance ; it also cooperated in education and constructed hospitals.
