Since the 5th century the traditional Chinese medicine has been brought into Japan. After a long time and constant efforts, Japanese people have formed their own medicine that more suitable for them. In the 17th century they have called their own medicine "Kampo" medicine to distinguish from "Rampo" medicine that was introduced from Netherland. "Japanese medical matters system" was issued in 1874, that did not admit "Kampo" medicine as the ordinary medicine. Therefore, "Kampo"medicine was disappeared from the center stage of the medicine for a while and gradually had declined. Afterwards many medical ancestors worked hard to revive "Kampo" medicine, and people also realized that they need it for today's medical care. In recent years they require a new medicine system-comprehensive medical treatment that treat the diseases and injures with a combined Western and "Kampo" medicine.
